Snapchatter Nabilla Promoting Bitcoin

Did she really make €800 from a €1000 crypto investment, or is this another case of influencer marketing & cryptocurrency?

TLDR; Frensh starlet Nabila on Snapchat recommends you make money with bitcoin without opening your eyes because there is nothing to loose (lol). Then pitches a €549 “learn to trade bitcoin” subscription. French media outrage follows, with AMD (French financial regulator/ombudsman) warning citizens of the risks “You can loose everything”.

Why am I writing about this?

I needed a break and a little distraction. So I started checking the rising trends for a couple of key terms. Im sure you already heard about Kodak’s pivot to Bitcoin mining & its KashMiner. But item 5 on the list caught my attention as I had no clue what this was about.

After a quick google search it was clear that this was all about a Snapchat “influencer”, snapping about her Bitcoin investment gains. Or is it?

Who is Nabilla?

Nabilla Benattia is a 25-year-old starlet made famous by reality TV.

Nabilla Leona Benattia, well known as Nabilla, is a Franco-Swiss model and personality on reality tv. She has appeared in L’Amour est aveugle, Hollywood Girls, Les Anges de la télé-réalité and her own TV show Allo Nabilla.

What was she promoting?

She was promoting a Bitcoin Trader website. (Link removed)

Why is this influencer marketing?

Just a guess — but she is listed as an advertiser on gosnap.io

And her video is suddenly appearing on their youtube channel & on their website

Is this working?

Probably. The video they posted 2 days ago has 40k views. No doubt helped a lot by the regulator responding via twitter to this whole thing last night giving it way more attention.

What about web traffic?

Too early to tell — Simweb suggests about 1k visits a day on average, with 27k in November.

Give it a couple of days and ill update the stats below to see if this influencer campaign has had any impact.

Last 28 Days
Last 6 month

Update 12 January

Looks like the video is now at 80k views, and the AMF tweet is at 113 comments & 659 RTs. So about double from when I posted this story 2 days ago.

The search trend has also lost steam since then.

What about the traffic to the site she was promoting?

No new data on simweb yet for that. Still showing 8 January as the last date. Will update when I have more info.

Update 13 January

New simweb stats are live, and it looks like this little influencer marketing campaign doubled traffic to the site that was being promoted.
